Merry Meet!
My name is Lori and my magickal name is Lady Darkana, I have been pagan for 45 years and I am constantly learning about the different belief systems and using what I need from each path to achieve the effect I need that is why today I call myself a Gypsy Witch.
I was born in Texas in 1962 and have 2 grown sons. I grew up Pentecostal and being the stubborn rebel I am I rebelled against being told what I can and can not do. At 14 I ran away from home and got into Satanism but after a couple of months I wanted nothing to do with that path all it showed me was how to prostitute yourself for gain and profit and most of the time you never got that.
A year later I met my sister's friend Tish and her friend Sherri and they showed me another way, the Celtic way and it felt like I was home. By the early 90's we had formed a coven called Guardian's of the Sacred Fairy Fires and as it grew we needed more space. A friend of ours who joined us suggested that me, Tish and Sherry join him one Sunday at the local Unitarian church and talk with the minister, Rev. Thompson and in 1995 our coven joined the UU church. They accepted us for who we were and even defended us when we were attacked by the local Baptist church.
In the early 2000's the coven broke up and we went our separate ways. Tish got married and moved across country, Sherry and James both moved on their next life (R.I.P. you two I love and miss you both.) and me I moved on and became a solitary witch. Today I am still a solitary Gypsy Witch who is constantly learning and trying to be the best I can be and sometimes it is hard and you want to quit but never give up you just need to push on to achieve that inner peace.
